چکیده

The decay of the primordial isotopes 238U, 235U, 232Th, and 40K has contributed to terrestrial heat budget throughout Earth's history. Hence, individual abundance those are key parameters in reconstructing contemporary Earth models. geoneutrinos produced by radioactive decays uranium thorium have been observed with Kamioka Liquid-Scintillator Antineutrino Detector (KamLAND). Those measurements improved more than 18-year observation time, improvement detector background levels mainly an 8-year nearly reactor-free period, which now permit spectroscopy geoneutrinos. Our results yield first constraint on both contributions. KamLAND result is consistent geochemical estimations based elemental abundances chondritic meteorites mantle peridotites. High-Q model disfavored at 99.76% C.L. a fully radiogenic excluded 5.2σ assuming homogeneous producing element distribution mantle.

Analytical .use of Arsenazo Iii Determination of Thorium, Zirconium, Uranium and Rare Earth Elements

The reagent arsenazo III (1,8-dihydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulphonic acid-2,7-bis[(azo2)-phenylarsonic acid]) gives marked colour reactions with a number of elements. Anions affect the reaction only to a slight degree and it is possible to work at low pH values; the reaction is very sensitive and the compound can thus be used for the photometric determination of Th, Zr, I-If, U, rare earths, and ...

Behavior and Distribution of Heavy Metals Including Rare Earth Elements, Thorium, and Uranium in Sludge from Industry Water Treatment Plant and Recovery Method of Metals by Biosurfactants Application

In order to investigate the behavior, distribution, and characteristics of heavy metals including rare earth elements (REEs), thorium (Th), and uranium (U) in sludge, the total and fractional concentrations of these elements in sludge collected from an industry water treatment plant were determined and compared with those in natural soil. In addition, the removal/recovery process of heavy metal...

Evolution of uranium and thorium minerals

The origins and near-surface distributions of the ~250 known uranium and/or thorium minerals elucidate principles of mineral evolution. This history can be divided into four phases. The first, from ~4.5 to 3.5 Ga, involved successive concentrations of uranium and thorium from their initial uniform trace distribution into magmatic-related fluids from which the first U4+ and Th4+ minerals, uranin...

Estimating terrestrial uranium and thorium by antineutrino flux measurements.

Uranium and thorium within the Earth produce a major portion of terrestrial heat along with a measurable flux of electron antineutrinos. These elements are key components in geophysical and geochemical models. Their quantity and distribution drive the dynamics, define the thermal history, and are a consequence of the differentiation of the Earth. Knowledge of uranium and thorium concentrations ...
